Changing a lens’ focal length can affect its centre of gravity, which is why you don’t usually see zoom lenses used with gimbal stabilisation devices — but, thanks to the XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR’s compact dimensions and internal zooming mechanism, the physical length of this lens does not change when its zoom setting is adjusted, meaning it can be used with a gimbal to achieve stunning videography.
The XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR’s conventional focus ring allows for easy manual focus control, while an innovative zoom lever enables variable zoom speed. Plus, two custom function buttons on the lens’ exterior allow you to set a constant zoom speed, focal length, and focal length as a preset, so you can quickly achieve your most frequently used settings without having to fiddle with the lens.
Its weather resistant design and dust- and moisture-repellent fluorine-coated front and rear elements are easy to clean and protect the lens against water and dust ingress — allowing photographers and videographers to continue shooting in adverse weather conditions. Plus, for those who need to work in colder climates, the XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR will even remain unaffected in extreme temperature reaching down to -10°C.
