Description
A Natural View
The GF55mmF1.7 R WR offers an angle of view that is similar to that of the human eye by matching the lens’s focal length with the diagonal measurement of a GFX System camera’s imaging sensor, presenting a greater level of image detail in a single image than ever before, especially when combined with the system’s native 4:3 aspect ratio.
Intuitive Lens Configuration
An innovative lens configuration consisting of 14 elements in 10 groups utilises 2 aspherical lenses and 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses to combat axial chromatic aberration, resulting in stunning high-res images with incredible contrast as well as beautiful colours and tones. Aperture adjustments are also coordinated with the GF55mmF1.7 R WR’s front and rear lens groups in order to achieve consistent levels of aberration correction regardless of the focus position.
Beautiful Bokeh
The GF55mmF1.7 R WR’s fast maximum aperture, when combined with a large format sensor, achieves beautiful bokeh, lending a more professional-looking feel to your photography — expertly blurring the background behind your subject whilst ensuring they remain in focus with incredible precision. This lens is the first GF lens to feature 11 diaphragm blades, resulting in a near-perfect circular aperture, even at F4 or F5.6. The GF55mmF1.7 R WR will easily capture stunning images with exquisite bokeh, distortion-free highlights, and next to no aberrations.
Always In Focus
The GF55mmF1.7 R WR features outstanding autofocus capabilities, using a near-silent, vibration-free DC motor to produce lightning-fast focusing that reacts as quickly as you can — ensuring your subject is in focus, even when capture in the most fleeting moment.
Compact, Rugged & Weatherproof
Don’t let its compact size fool you, the GF55mmF1.7 R WR remains incredibly rugged, meaning it is perfect for use as your everyday lens. Plus, with several weather-sealed elements across its exterior, this lens remains dust- and moisture-resistant. Regardless of challenging conditions, such as a torrential downpour, heavy snow, high humidity, or freezing conditions, the GF55mmF1.7 R WR allows you to carry on shooting. And, for those who need to venture into colder climates, it will even operate unimpeded in extreme temperatures reaching down to -10°C.
