Description
Fifth Gen Sensor & Processor
The Fujifilm X-H2S features the all-new 5th generation stacked layer back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS HS sensor. Offering an incredible 26.16MP resolution, this sensor uses a unique colour filter array to control moiré and false colour without using an optical low-pass filter, significantly improving the camera’s performance. Thanks to this intuitive sensor, the X-H2S can achieve 40fps blackout-free burst shooting and dramatically improved AF burst shooting.
This CMOS sensor uses a stacked layer structure in which the chips that process and read out signals are placed on the back of the sensor’s surface, achieving a reading speed that is more than 4x faster than previous iterations and 30x faster than the first-generation model. The CMOS sensor works alongside the new X-Processor 4, a processor that is 2x faster than previous iterations.
HEIF image format support allows the X-H2S to deliver 10-bit image quality in files up to 30% smaller than standard JPEG files. Support of this format ensures high-quality images straight out of the camera before any post-production is applied.
High-Speed Shooting
The Fujifilm X-H2S’s X-Trans CMOS 5 HS sensor is capable of blackout-free bursts of up to 40fps. In burst mode the sensor’s phase-detection pixels are controlled independently from the image display, tripling the number of possible calculations, thus enabling the ability to accurately focus between individual frames at incredibly high speeds.
The X-H2S’s increased memory capacity significantly extends the camera’s ability to record continuous frames in burst mode without stopping — allowing users to reach blackout-free speeds of up to 40fps, capture over 1000 frames continuously at 30fps in JPEG, or write RAW images at 20fps when using electronic shutter on the X-H2S.
Improved Auto Focus
The Fujifilm X-H2S offers improved auto focus for better subject tracking in almost any lighting conditions, with an improved AF algorithm — alongside the X-Trans CMOS 5 HS sensor and X-Processor 5 — providing a significant boost to subject tracking and autofocus accuracy when shooting moving objects, most noticeably in Zone-AF and low-contrast conditions.
Through the unparalleled power of the X-Processor 5, the Fujifilm X-H2S features subject-detection AF based on Deep Learning technology. This function automatically detects and tracks a much broader range of subjects in motion, including human faces an eyes.
High-Definition Video Recording
The Fujifilm X-H2S’s 26.1MP Stacked BSI CMOS sensor achieves incredibly quick readout speeds of up to 1/180 sec, tightly controlling rolling shutter effect — allowing this camera to record Open Gate 6.2K movies internally at 30P in 4:2:2 10-bit colour, resulting in motion that feels significantly more natural.
Video can even be captured in 4K/120P, allowing cinematographers to capture fast-moving subjects in stunning detail for high-quality, slow-motion footage.
Supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 LT. ProRes 422 Proxy is also available when recording ProRes, which can assist in streamlining post-production workflows.
Plus, new F-Log2 records in expanded dynamic range of 14+ stops. F-Log2 is wider than current F-Log and broadens editing potential when it comes to post-production.
The camera’s new heat-dissipating design increases the video recording capabilities, now offering up to 240 minutes of continuous recording time of 4K/60P video.*
*When recording video at 25℃ from a cool start, with the auto power-off temperature set at “High,” bitrate of 100Mbps, a vertical battery grip VG-XH attached and using three batteries. The recording duration depends on remaining battery charge and the type and capacity of a memory card used. When the main unit heats up, filming may automatically be terminated.
7.0-Stop IBIS System
With an all-new 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system (IBIS) made possible by the X-Processor 5 and a sensing control function, the Fujifilm X-H2S provides up to seven stops of compensation, dramatically reducing image shake and opening up greater opportunities for handheld shooting in conditions that would previously have required support.
Intuitive Design
Features a 5.76 million dot high-resolution electronic viewfinder that provides 0.8x magnification and achieves incredible detail through 5.76 million dots. A refresh rate of approximately 120 frames per second reliably suppresses image blur and distortion that can occur when looking through the viewfinder at extreme angles, making tracking moving object much easier.
The Fujifilm X-H2S has been designed to remain exceptionally robust, providing users with greater freedom when it comes to their creative process. Its incredibly durable shutter withstood half a million actuations during internal testing, and its 79 weather-sealed points ensure high levels of dust- and moisture-resistance.
The X-H2S operates reliably in adverse weather and, with operating temperatures reaching down to -10°C, users can even capture the perfect image, even in harsh environmental conditions.
Increased Connectivity
The Fujifilm X-H2S can be connected to a PC for 4K live streaming or webcam use, without the need for Fujifilm X Webcam software. Combine it with the optional File Transmitter FT-XH and this camera will even support FTP transfer and tethering through wired and wireless internet connections or USB-connected smartphones.
