Description
Technology
Every aspect of the Fujifilm X-T30 II has been designed to enhance the photography experience. From its intuitive dial-based operation, lightweight bodyshell, and advanced APS-C sensor to its rear touchscreen, built-in flash, and classic design, this camera fuses cutting edge technology with vintage aesthetics, offering a truly immersive experience from a device that never feels out of place in your hand.
X-Trans CMOS 4 Sensor
Its fourth-generation X-Trans CMOS 4 26.1MP back-illuminated imaging sensor minimises noise and extends sensitivity to ISO160. This sensor features a unique structure to its colour filter array which reduces moiré (the optical phenomenon that produces unwanted patterns in digital images when two patterns with similar frequencies interact) and false colours, without the need for an optical low pass filter.
X-Processor 4
The X-T30 II features the X-Processor 4 which works in tandem with the X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor to achieve an image processing combination capable of delivering multiple Film Simulation modes. Enhancements have been made to the X-T30’s ability to track moving subjects, with an optimised auto focus for both still photography and 4K/30P videography.
Film Simulation Modes
Utilising Fujifilm’s 85+ years of expertise in colour science, the X-T30 II offers multiple Film Simulation modes, each of which offering specially formulated depth, saturation, and tonality that requires little to no post-production adjustment. These Film Simulation modes provide photographers and videographers with greater creative freedom, achieving a unique feel and style to their images tailored to their preferences. Each simulation will reproduce colours and tones from Fujifilm’s most popular analogue films and photo finishing processes. See the Film Simulation tab above to discover what each Film Simulation can do.
Shooting Modes
The X-T30 II adapts to the method with which the photographer wants to create their composition, achieving excellent results with minimal effort through the use several shooting modes. These modes include: AUTO, offering intelligent, fully-automatic shooting; Manual, allowing the photographer to take full control over focus and other functions; Aperture Priority, used for front to back sharpness, or to blur the background of an image; Shutter Priority, used to emphasise movement; and Program, which lets the camera control the choice of aperture and shutter speed.
Image quality is taken to a whole new level with the X-T30 II’s AUTO/SP mode, utilising cutting-edge technology to provide clearer and more vivid landscapes, natural looking portraiture, and backlit scenes with minimal loss of detail in the highlights and shadows.
High-Speed Continuous Framing
The X-T30 II’s 8 frames per second mechanical shutter and 20 frames per second Electronic Shutter, keeping up with a moving subject/object is easier than ever, allowing you to capture all the action with unparalleled clarity. Plus, for instances where even more speed is needed, the Electronic Shutter can be accelerated to 30 frames per second, with just a slight crop to the frame.
Customisable Settings
With this intuitive digital camera, creating your own distinctive style has been made easy through the combination of Film Simulations and other effects, including film grain texture, colour depth, clarity, sharpness, and highlight and shadow tones. Each adjustment can be viewed live on the electronic view finder (EVF) and on the LCD touchscreen, allowing you to create effects that suit your preferences and save them as presets for quick access.
Clarity
The X-T30 II lets you capture images with crisp sharpness or a softer feel through eleven levels of Clarity control, allowing you to fine-tune the look of your composition to match your personal preferences.
Colour Chrome Effect
Colour Chrome effect adds depth, detail, and a natural vividness to red, green, or yellow tones where saturation is too high to achieve true gradation. You can also use Colour Chrome FX Blue to adjust values in an image’s blue tones. Adjusting them separately in three levels allows you to perfectly match your subject and results in a true-to-life composition.
Grain Effect
For a sense of nostalgia, Grain Effect allows you to replicate the feel of a vintage high-ISO film camera, adding natural-looking grain from a mild texture to a gritty look. Control the intensity and size of the grain effect to achieve the perfect look to your photos or videos.
Advanced Auto Focus
With its advanced auto focus, which uses densely arranged phase detection pixels and advanced algorithms, the X-T30 II achieves unprecedented auto focus capabilities, reaching incredible speeds and working across the entirety of the frame. This camera makes sure photographers are always ready to capture the perfect shot.
Speed & Accuracy
These advanced AF capabilities allow the X-T30 II to focus in just 0.02 seconds, offering an auto focus performance similar to other high-performance cameras in the Fujifilm X-Series. Plus, when working in combination with the powerful X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 processing engine, the X-T30 II maintains accurate focus on objects or subjects that are moving erratically or with great speed — reliably locking onto an individual’s face for perfect portrait photography.
Face/Eye Detection AF
With Face/Eye Detection AF, the X-T30 II will keep a subject’s face or eyes in focus, making it perfect for photographing people on the move or for taking photos using a shallow-depth-of field — lending your portraits a more three-dimensional look. Face and Eye Detection AF can also be used when shooting in movie mode, ensuring the subject in frame remains sharp and allowing the videographer to focus more on telling their story.
Tracking AF
With Tracking AF, the speed and performance of the X-T30 II’s best-in-class auto focus doesn’t let up, detecting colours and shapes to accurately identify an object, ensuring high-speed object remain in focus. Just a half-press of the shutter release is all it takes to track your subject smoothly and accurately as it moves around the frame.
Low-Light AF
Its Intelligent Hybrid Phase Detection auto focus system allows the X-T30 II to deliver sharp and crystal-clear images in very dark interiors or low-light scenarios. With a sensitivity of -7EV*, auto focus can even be used in night-time conditions in near total darkness, where other cameras would usually struggle to focus.
*With XF50mm F1.0 WR attached.
Movie Mode
When it comes to beautiful imagery, the X-T30 II isn’t just limited to still photography, with Movie mode allowing you to capture stunning, vibrant videos that remain true-to-life — so you can share your memories with friends and family and let them experience them as you did.
Where many modern cameras are capable of 4K video output, the X-T30 II goes even further, shooting footage that is oversampled from an original 6K signal and allowing the camera to deliver high-resolution footage with minimal noise and incredible sharpness. Filming in DCI format with a 17:9 aspect ratio is also supported, providing a more dramatic, cinematic look to your videos. Plus, for an even greater level of customisation, each of the 18 Film Simulation modes available in photo mode is available when shooting in movie mode — including ETERNA/CINEMA, the motion picture film stock that has been used in countless blockbusters.
Full HD 240p High Speed Footage
Record Full-HD high-speed movies at 240 frames per second to play videos back at normal speed and achieve smooth, high-quality footage that can be slowed down up to 10 times for added dramatic effect.
F-Log Support
F-Log video format support allows for greater flexibility when it comes to postproduction, allowing you to record movies in a wide dynamic range and improving the detail in highlights and shadows. Use F-Log View Assist when shooting in movie mode to achieve a BT.709 equivalent preview on the LCD monitor and see what an edit could look like then and there.
Control Mode
The X-T30 II has been designed to remain intuitive when it comes to control, allowing you to switch seamlessly between exposure modes by setting a combination of the Shutter Speed Dial and the Aperture Ring on the lens. An Exposure Compensation Dial enables exposure adjustments up to ±5 stops*.
