This large aperture zoom lens uses a rounded, nine-blade aperture diaphragm to produce stunning images with minimal spherical aberration. Its lens configuration consists of 17 elements in 12 groups, including 3 aspherical elements that reduce any distortion and spherical aberration, and 3 ED (extra-low dispersion) elements used to control chromatic aberrations, resulting in professional-looking images that are perfect for close scrutinisation after the fact.
The lens is coated with Fujifilm’s proprietary High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating (HT-EBC) to eliminate reflections, and a Nano GI coating is used to control ghosting and flare that occurs when light bounces around inside the lens — improving the quality of light hitting the sensor and therefore improving the overall image quality.
