Description
Long-Range Surveillance
Equipped with a 40x optical zoom lens, the Fujifilm SX800 makes long-range observation easy, covering a broad range of focal lengths from 20mm on the wide-angle end to 800mm on the telephoto end. Its x2 digital zoom can be used to achieve an equivalent 1600mm focal length for extreme long-range observation at up to 80x zoom.
New Image Stabilisation System
Featuring a new image stabilisation system, this camera combines optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS) to accurately compensate for camera shake. This system is most effective when the camera is being used in the ultra-telephoto range where it is particularly susceptible to even the slightest shake.
Implementing high-precision gyro sensors and a newly developed linear-thrust motor, this image stabilisation system can detect even minute vibrations that would have previously gone unnoticed, counteracting them and ensuring greater accuracy and improved tracking performance.
The OIS uses a unique “ceramic bead roller” system in which ceramic beads — processed with ultimate precision — minimise friction and resistance, achieving advanced responsiveness and greater reliability when it comes to image stabilisation.
The EIS mode uses a sensor large enough for its lenses effective diameter to secure full-HD resolution (1920×1080), only ever delivering high-quality images. The combined use of the EIS with the OIS substantially improves the capabilities of the image stabilisation system.
High-Speed Auto Focus System
The Fujifilm SX800 features on-sensor phase detection autofocus and “contrast AF”. On-sensor phase detection uses phase detection pixels across the sensor to instantaneously measure distance according to the displacement of incident lights, and “contrast AF” detects areas of high contrast in images with incredible accuracy — automatically applying the optimum AF setting.
The new Rear Focus mechanism significantly reduces the weight of the SX800’s focusing lens group and significantly increases the focus drive speed to enable “Continuous AF”. Users can choose between “Continuous AF” mode, in which autofocus continuously adjusts the focus; “Quick AF” mode, in which AF automatically focuses on a subject after the user has zoomed in/out; and “MF” mode, in which a user can manually focus on their desired subject.
Image Processing Technology
With its highly sensitive imaging sensor and advanced noise reduction capabilities, the SX800 will achieve an exceptionally clear picture with minimal noise, even in low-light conditions. Unique imaging technologies ensures vivid clarity in images where haziness is caused by light diffusion with airborne mist droplets or dust, and substantially reduces the shimmering effect of heat haze caused by large differences in atmospheric temperatures.
Simplified Setup
Unlike conventional surveillance systems, which require adjustments to the optical axis and flange focal length when mounting a lens to a camera, the SX800 features a built-in lens with these settings already optimally adjusted — ensuring maximum performance straight out of the box. The design of this long-range camera also eliminates the need for any complicated wiring, thus reducing the installation time.
Robust Design
With a completely new design offering advanced durability, rigidity, and portability, the Fujifilm SX800 is made of robust and incredibly durable aluminium, protecting the inner workings against any bumps, knocks, and scrapes. The ability to attach a carrying handle enables more convenience and comfort when it comes to transporting the device.
Please note that Fujifilm does not offer their own carrying handle.
